| This is an update to my previous posts on the subject. I’m quite interested in watching the service quality of restaurants - particularly the ones that are doing well. What apparently happens is that initial quality levels [service and food] are quite high - these degrade over time as customer flock to the place - while prices go up. The Great Kabab Factory is no exception.
I’ve written about the food earlier - no need to do so again. Lets talk about service and quality levels. The cucumber they now serve is mostly old and yellowing. With about 50% capacity, they are unable to keep up with table deliveries - so you wind up gnawing whatevers on your plate, while your lackadiasical waiter stammers in broken english [they used to be fluent - then again, why speak english in the first place?] that ‘phud cuming, pliss to be bhaiting’. Sometimes the kababs come smelling of kerosene - which they vehemently deny. They’ve stopped offerring different kinds of rotis - you have to ask, no, demand them these days.
All in all, the Great Kabab Factory is on the decline and it is the rare, out of town/country visitor that I take there, simply because they’ve heard so much about kababs. It’s easier than going to old Delhi. If you’re finicky about your food or service, don’t visit. If you’re on a company budget and don’t care either way - go on!
