The Farm

"Lounge, devour, relish.." 15 Jun 2009
Finally, we made it to The Farm, nestled in the wilderness, just ahead of the Asiana Hotel on OMR. As you walk in through the bright yellow and red door, you are welcomed with a chilled Tender coconut drink, and shown to the lounge area. Beds laid out on stone base, or choose one of the Dhabba like beds, you feel right at home!! The dining area is huge, covered in green net kinda material, keeping away bugs and mosquitoes. Funky looking chairs, tables made of stone in various shapes, simple light fixtures with colored fittings, plenty of fans to keep us cool against humid breeze- all this adds to the experience.. Food - There is a huge grill laid out near the entrance, and as we walk along, one can drool over the achari marinated Chicken, beer can chicken[ a full chicken sitting on a beer can, cooked with beer simmering on high temperature] while on the other side treats await the vegetarians. Mushrooms filled with cream sauce, capsicum stuffed with potatoes, paneer tikka that is sweet with a coconut filling, not to forget the many pickles and sauces that had us yearning for more. Sip on a chilled Thums up[ no booze, yet], dig into your chicken or pork chops or a mushroom and you are in heaven. the 1st round is self service, but after that, food comes to your table. Oh, you can go make your own pizza.. Thin crust, rustic oven cooked, these are a treat for a hungry tummy. If none of this satiates your appetite, sample something from their comfort food section- a roti or naan, or maybe daal chawal. Dessert is served near the entrance, a short stroll, and you can lounge some more while you savor the sinful chocolate cake, and do ask to try the famous banana walnut cake[ which is equally yummy]. Plenty of open air, free reign to the entire place, no noise, no loud TV or garish decor, The Farm is one awesome place to enjoy a fun dinner in the company of friends... All this for just Rs500... Pretty soon, he is going to have more rooms-[ right now there are only 4] and with these rooms, booze license will arrive !!
