Trishna - Kala Ghoda

"Good food, iffy service!" 09 Feb 2010
Trishna seems to have created quite a niche for itself attracting high profile guests and the who's who of Mumbai. The unfortunate side effect seems to be the snobbish service. You might feel like you need to be somebody to be treated like anybody! That besides, there is a lot of good food. Some of the recommended dishes include Pomfret Hyderabadi, Garli King Crab, Pomfret hariyali, fish sholay kebab and Kolhapuri prawns. The seafood specialty restaurant is open daily from noon-3:30pm and 6pm-midnight(from 7pm on Sun and holidays) Enjoy!

The Leela Kempinski Goa

"Luxurious Leela" 17 Mar 2010
We stayed here the summer of 2009. It was an absolutely great experience. The service was excellent and never failed to impress. The resort itself is beautiful. It is so large you may never see all of it during your stay. Its great for evening walks apart from the few avenues that are populated by crows raining down poop! That aside the property is beautiful, well landscaped and neat. The beach is clean and secluded. The bar serves some great cocktails, beer and snacks. The restaurants are pretty good but could be better. We actually preferred walking along the beach to the nearby beach shacks. Either way it was great to get back to the resort and sleep comfortably in our great rooms.

Joy Luck Moon

"A welcome food break at the moon!" 22 Apr 2010
The restaurant is on the second floor of the swanky citywalk mall. Located in the atrium area the restaurant is brightly lit by natural light. The restaurant is somewhat small with about 8 tables seating anywhere from two to ten. The decor is beige and red with designer wood panels on the walls. The wooden flooring is yet another aspect of this space that makes it stylish. The service is very courteous and prompt. We went by the waiters recommendations and they were all spot on. The Spinach dragon soup, pan fired noodles with Chicken and classic crispy fried chicken with Mayo were good and correctly spiced according to our requests. The menu is rightly sized and not overly ambitious. Although the restaurant claims the chinese tag it seems to carry a bunch of south east Asian dishes. Walk into the main restaurant and out the double glass doors at the back, ascend the red walled black staircase to reach their open terrace. The terrace has a loungy atmosphere and generally opens no earlier than sun down. There are wicker chairs and tables, cabanas and a large bar. The lighting is apt and with music the place transforms into a very enjoyable lounge. Like the previous review mentioned, this indeed is a surprise in a mall. Cheers!

Lazeez Affaire

"A good affair" 28 Apr 2010
Looking for Chinese food but finding none within the mall we sort of stumbled into this restaurantThe restaurant located on the top floor of the TDI Mall. At first glance I was a bit apprehensive and also had the quick impression that it didn’t look very clean. But once we were settled in our table, I realized I might have been too quick to judge. The table, tableware, floors all seemed quite clean. The restaurant is done up in brown tones with a central light fixture that is the focus of the room. At one end by the windows is some sunken seating whiles elsewhere tables are well spaced out. There is an area for live performances and a DJ. Although there was no live entertainment the afternoon we were there. The service was prompt and polite. We ordered small, Dal Makhani, Awaad ki Sole, Reshmi Kabab and rotis. The food was very good and would definitely come back for more!

Shiro

"There is good Sushi in B'lore!!" 24 May 2010
Shiro is located in the UB city complex on one level above the Piazza. While the elevator ride up to it might be non impressive, the actual restaurant is visually stunning. The interiors rival some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas and New York. I say Las Vegas, as there is something dramatic about the the restaurant that matches many of the popular ones out there. Imposing statues and busts, greenery, high ceilings, a wine cellar, multiple levels are all apart of the scenery. Walk out the double doors to their open bar and restaurant extension. Once again everything is aesthetic and impressive. We were there in the afternoon and can only imagine how pretty the place must look all lit up. Now to the food. Sushi in India has always had a big question mark for me, but Shiro has changed that. Granted the selections were minimal or rather limited but every piece of sushi, sashimi and nigiri was excellent and fresh. Especially good was the norwegian salmon sashimi. We ordered the unlimite Sushi/Maki and Dim Sum plates along with a Sashimi platter. The Dim sums were good but it was the Sushi that stole the show. Service was good but could have been better. There was no soy sauce on the table and you had to request some everytime your shallow bowl emptied. And it was usally a wait to get a tad more of that sauce. The place is expensive but for Sushi and that too good sushi you should expect to pay more. But we did come out feeling like it was a resonable meal considering the cuisine. Definitely recommend this place and would love to come back one evening to lounge in the outside area, eat sushi and listen to music.
