La Gardenia

"Inconsistent but mostly good" 15 Jun 2010
There really is no better place for a lunch buffet like this and that too in a place like this is. The service is always good and the spread always large. The variety is impressive right from appetizers to main entrees. The only thing is that it tends to be inconsistent in terms of taste. I have been there several times and its almost down to the middle, that is good and bad. The last time I was there, the food was great but I cannot be sure about the next time. Still, the hotel is nice and neat, the restaurant bright and cheery, all that makes for a nice experience.

Olive Garden

"Good Italian!" 16 Jun 2010
The Italian restaurant at the Windflower might have a very common restaurant name "Olive Garden" but its food is uncommonly good for Mysore. The ambiance is comfortable with a lot of surrounding greenery. There is a pond to one side with geese wading around. The kids love that! The decor is somewhat plain with cane furniture and little else. The place is neat and clean. Service is prompt and attentive. The food is very good especially the pastas. The Spaghetti dishes are highly recommended, try the Bolognese. The also serve Indian food which I hear is very good too. They have a large foreign clientele who are very fond of their India menu. Servings are a good size and there is value for money. Enjoy!

Kryptos by Willi

"Great job Willi!" 06 Oct 2010
Kryptos is located in the lower level of a building that also house the Sports Locker. The restaurant has an obvious Mediterranean theme although I felt it was a bit busy and the decor slightly distracting. There maybe more seating that they can accommodate, we were seated a hairs breadth from the kitchen door and were almost rubbing shoulder with the guests at the next table. Nevertheless, the rest of the experience really made up for any small shortcomings. They offer a large buffet although the non-vegetarian spread seems to be a lot more varied and interesting with squid, oysters, anchovies and more. We ordered off the menu. I had the Spanish Seared Mackerel that was marinated in a sauce of cumin, saffron, mint and Yogurt. (Rs.625) The fish pieces were on a skewer and it was served with an option of french or garlic fries and lemon roasted potatoes. The entree was very good! My husband had the lamb Souvalaki and thought that the meat was of great quality and well spiced and cooked. The portions were pretty large so we did not have space for dessert. Would love to come back for some. This is my new favorite place along with Tuscana!

Wasabi by Morimoto

"Par Excellence!" 08 Dec 2010
I have now been to Wasabi three timnes and continue to be wowed! The ambience, the service, the food are all superlative. I love their salads especially the one with Pommelo in it. All the sashimi is super fresh and no fishy smell included! Do not miss the desserts, they are to die for. the are not your run of the mill desserts, everything is baked and sweetened to perfection. A must try when in Mumbai. Of course make sure your wallets are deep, this food does not come cheap!
