| "A Culinary and Visual feast!" |

| This restaurant is truly fascinatinly bizare. With an obvious take on "chor bazaar", its choc full of curios, odds and ends likes antique combs, matchboxes, coins and chessboards), seemingly misplaced and mismatched furnishing creatively displayed and almost distracting. For example a 1927 vintage Fiat is used as a "Chaat mobile", now that's unique!
As for the food there is lots to try. Some of the good ones are the Kashmiri-style deep-fried lotus roots,Tandoori lamb marinated in 36 different spices and Goshtaba. If you want to lay of the menu try the Thali -Kashmiri taramis, it includes a lot of what you would want to order of the menu.
A definite must try!

| "Like travelling to the south!" |

| A large Nandi bull statue greets you at the entrance of the restaurant. But it does not end there, the inside is decked with Tanjore paintings and ethnic carved pillars. The setting is almost perfect for a nice south Indian meal, and Naivedyam does not disappoint. While they do have a menu of dosas, idlys and other South Indian breakfast and tiffin staples, I prefer their thali and even more so their spot on Rasam, perfectly spiced. Finish up your meal with tea or filter coffee served in what I call the original Madrasi style. |

| "Great food under the Chennai sky" |

| The Raintree that once spread out to cover almost all the al fresco area of the restaurant is not there anymore, a victim of nature I hear. But the newer shrubs and trees lend nicely to the ambiance. The tables are spread out so that you aren't in anyone's face or feel you are in the mist of someonelese's converstation. On performance nights, a lot of people like to sit up front, personally I prefer a few tables behind, the music is just loud enough for your to hear and still have a conversation. The performance is usually Indian classical dance and music and the artists are almost always talented.
As a refreshment try the Vasantha neer, that comes in a neat copper mug. I loved their Karuveppilai prawns and most of what I ate. Spicy like Chettinad cuisine is supposed to be keep your drink closeby!
All in all a great expereince. Just make sure the weather is cooperating. |

| "Pretty place, good food" |

| Housed in what seems to be old Bungalow, the interiors are pretty with ethnic idols and wall adornments. The main entrance hallway gives way to smaller rooms, some more private than others. The round tables in some of the rooms offer great privacy and also a great family time. Although a bit corny, a lady sits on a raised pedestal carving vegetables, and somehow it seems to work for the restaurant. Often see kids mesmerized by her carvings or joining her on the pedestal.
The food is great. Always had a good meal. Love their chicken wrapped in a leaf. Not sure of the exact name but it was something I would go back for.

| "Visually spectacular" |
10 Feb 2010 |
| I rate this place highly more of its ambiance and design than anything else. There is much to behold in this exquisitely crafted place. The central dome is beautifully embellished with Thekri Ka Kaam. Large mirrors decorate the walls, the ceilings are candle lit, the colors are vibrant and the list goes on.
The food is interesting but not spectacular. They have tasting menus also. Have only been there and sampled a few items that did not leave a lasting impression.
Expect to have your wallets emptied!!
