Debailleul, a name I can hardly pronounce is an utterly delicious name. Afterall it is owned by Marc Debailleul, a world-renowned pastry chef from Belgium. Finally opening in Mumbai, the location they chose is a bit of a debate amongst pastry connoisseurs. Prabhadevi is the abode of the rich and famous alright but not necessarily of the bakery lovers. Why not Bandra is what I would love to ask! Nonetheless, Debailleul has created quite a stir amongst people. The prices are astronomical and the reason for that is that every pastry is flown down from Brussels, daily! Those that are made here are pretty pocket friendly. It is perhaps the only place I have seen a pastry for Rs.500 and also a tart for just Rs.50! They also have snacks but their calling is the pastry. You will find baked good too just like any other bakery but then again, you are eating at Debailleul!
