Martins corner started business in 1989 as a small courtyard restaurant run by the Periera family... and even though it has changed a lot since then , the food still is as delicious and traditional as it was 20 years ago.
During the tourist season in goa, getting a table here without prior reservation is next to impossible. The restaurant is open from 11 am to about 1am in the morning .
The variety on the menu is just superb ..although i would recommend that you stick to the Goan specialties or seafood since this is what martins corner is known for.
The menu here is extensive, and the seafood superb. From sorpotel bread savored by the local clientele in 1989, Martin's Corner is today known for its specialty. Goan cuisine comprising 'Snapper reicheido', ' Pomfret caldin', and in regular Goan delights of Goan fish curry, 'Vindaloo', ' Chicken cafreal', 'Ambot tik', ' Prawn balchao' and 'xec xec'. Seafood consists of the king crab, tiger prawns, pomfrets, king fish, snapper, squids, pickled fish and shark among others. Pickled fish also called fish mol, a Goan specialty.
Even though martins corner offers Punjabi and Chinese cuisine , there's nothing like digging into some hot Goan cuisine complimented with a pitcher of kingfisher beer or an awesome cocktail.
The bar menu is also very extensive and should appeal to drinkers of all ages.
The best part about martins corner is that unlike restaurants in the north of Goa , who's prices go up directly proportional to their popularity...martins corner still maintains reasonable prices , and this is what makes it so popular amongst the locals and tourists alike.
In all , I would totally recommend this place to anybody who's visiting goa and wants to relish some authentic Goan cuisine at reasonable prices.
