Was really expecting a great experience, but came away disappointed. I think their attempt at being an exclusive fine dining restaurant has resulted in a drab and slightly stuffy place. They have a great selection of wines and liquors. The menu also is exciting but careful what you order for. I think you should stick to the favorites or the chef selections. We skipped the scallops which were supposedly great. The Beef carpaccio was excellent and the desserts were great too. My advice is go there if you want a really intimate quiet evening. The food is good but there seems to plenty of room for improvement.

Our meal at Prego was one of the best I have had in Chennai. The restaurant is pretty and romantic. The service is excellent and the wait staff are very attentive and polite. The food we ate was top notch and we could not find anything to complain about any of the dishes. Even our Chardonnay was great and complimented our fish really well.
The pan seared Chilean Sea Bass drizzled with a lemony sauce was fantastic. The fish was flaky, great quality and very fresh. The complimentary breads were tasty and well baked.
The starters we had were pretty good too and the waiters offered some good suggestions. The seared scallops served on a bed of spinach was delightful. It had a trace of sweetness that made it all the more special.
The food is costly and portions are small. So there is a chance you could walk out of there eeling hungry.
Do try this restaurant. I am looking forward to going back and really keeping my fingers crossed it remains as good as it was the first time I tried the place.
