Enter shiro and one gets a feeling of entering a palatial chamber with high ceilings and a mega heavy door! The ambiance is captivating and its easy to understand that the place specialises in Japanese food.
A high-end place the staff at Shiro is surprising well informed and will recommend the best possible dish to your taste!
Before I talk about the food, one thing though is that the low seats here are not very comfortable for tall people. Infact, its ironic that a place with high ceilings will have such low seating!
However, that doesn't in anyway spoil the fun of eating at Shiro. Food is well-presented and well-served. Portions are just about okay for 2 people. The vegetable sushi is their signature dish and is a safe bet at the restaurant. Their food menu seems a bit limited but one can always try the cocktails which are interesting. Recently tried and love the sweet ciroc concoction. We visited the place for brunch recently and were amazed at the spread - Veg thai curry, tofu in hot bean sauce, mixed vegetable in black bean sauce , sichuan style green beans (simply superb) stir fried vegetables, Prawn Thai curry (wished there were more prawns), fish in coconut and basil (great), chicken spicy laksa, chicken Thai curry along with yaki udan noodles and hibachi rice.
After having so much we realised the seating is exactly the way its supposed to be - low & comfortable!
Shiro turns into a club post 10 & the Retro & MOS nights are very popular here!
