Britto's is a Goan landmark and institution, popular with locals and tourists alike for years and years. Owner and Chef Cajie Britto is a bit of a local celebrity and is also know for his pork vindaloo and prawn curry. He tries to mix it up with different offerings each day, so on Monday listen to a crooner, and do Karaoke on Thursday and Saturday. Barbecue nights are great too and you would probably need a reservation on those days.

Enjoyable as a reasonably cheap place to get OK food, better than the regular shacks but a shack all the same. Commercialized well over time now into being the place for most first-timer tourists. While the food is better here at Britto's the ambiance at neighboring Anthony's is warmer, with a live band once a week.

I've been to Britto's thrice so far and the food never ceases to amaze me! The whole experience of watching waves rolling onto the beach, while enjoying a bowl of prawn fried rice (my favorite) is sure to make make the greatest cynics complete believers.
