Golden Oven is such an old shop that it rivals Infantaria in Calangute. I did not know about this place until recently. So visited the patisserie and found out that many people have been come here for years. It is a favourite of the Europeans especially and even the locals enjoy the patisserie. Located next to the prominent Sirsaat Building near the busy bus stand in Mapusa, this bakery whips up products that go down well with the visitors.
Their offerings are many but I could only try the mini pizza which was a meal in itself as they didn't cringe in the quantity of meat and I wish they had added more cheese just to keep the meat in place!
They also serve excellent rolls with all kinds of fillings, sandwiches and burgers. Cakes too are aplenty. They have the usual options though such as the Apple Pie and the Apple Crumble. Some other excellent stuff they serve are the Goan favourites like the Beef Chop, which is delicately spiced beef minced inside a fried potato ball. Their rice cake is awesome while the Bebinca is the standard dessert available everywhere.
