I spent a couple of days in Bombay, just about a month ago. I did not take the chance of missing my precious time at Mondegar. It is peaceful, lively, unique, friendly, and brilliant. The wall frescoes by Mario Miranda give it a new and old feeling. Antique, melancholic, and beautiful.
The waiters are absolutely friendly. Beef steak to wine is available. It caters to the beer guzzlers, corporates, teenagers, artists, travellers, and all. They do not disturb you but the Mondys people might take a chance in striking a conversation with you. It feels like you a part of a beer community. Food and drink. Fun!
Chicken roast and beef steak is a must. The tables are near to each other, but the crowd waiting to get inside explains why they have so many tables. If you do not mind skipping a smoke through your dining experience, you might as well go to the Inn-side A nice quiet experience. But, you surely miss out on the outside loud laughing fun.
You can even choose what music to listen to. Costs you Rs.10 to choose a song. People are always choosing a variety of songs. So, if you are not into pop, but caught in a room of pop-freaks, good luck to you! I learnt to ignore the music. I had my fun with my friends, the waiters, the food, and the drinks. That is all I do. Then, Mario Miranda started intimidating me. So, I grabbed a book and started sketching. Brilliant experience! Like my home in Mumbai. I am going back there soon.
